Why mortgage applications are taking a holiday

    This seems like sensationalist crap from me. They continually mention that yes, it was a holiday week, so of course mortgage applications are going to be down during Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and what now amounts to Black Weekend where a ton of people are traveling, eating, shopping, and not focused on refinancing.

    Then they use this genius argument:
    Last month wasn't Thanksgiving.

    In 2012 Thanksgiving was on November 22nd and in 2013 it was November 28th... so the year-to-year comparison doesn't apply, either. You need a holiday week vs. holiday week comparison if you want to do the numbers ANY justice. Otherwise you're just writing an article for clicks.

    Guess I fell for the bait...
